Supporting Communities in the Aftermath of a Hurricane
In the weeks following a hurricane, the immediate waves of destruction start to subside, and the real work begins. Communities begin the slow process of rebuilding homes and practices, restoring infrastructure, and recovering from the toll of the storm.
Thanks to your generous support of GDA's Hurricane Relief Fund, our community was able to:
Provide emergency financial assistance to vulnerable students at Dental College of Georgia to provide immediate relief and help cover basic needs
Provide more than 700 dental hygiene kits for communities most impacted by the hurricane
Awarded $10,000 in grants to GDA members most impacted by the hurricane to support their recovery efforts for home and practice damages
After the initial rush of supplies and rescue efforts, many face ongoing challenges. Our friends at the Association for Dental Safety (ADS), put together a guide for dentists as they begin to return to work after this storm.
Return to Work After Prolonged Shutdown or Reduced Operations is a compilation of infection prevention and control resources that will be useful when reopening dental practices after a natural disaster
